Senior Sales Manager

Hiab is looking for a Senior Sales Manager who is responsible for planning, developing, directing, executing and monitoring sales activities to achieve established sales targets.

- Leading a team of two area sales managers and managing a network of partners to drive our sales for the defence applications for Hiab’s entire portfolio on the global market
- Cooperative seller for a number of countries within the EMEA region and key account management activities for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) (truck and defence equipment manufacturers)
- Work closely with the various divisions, Customer Support Centres (CSCs) and independent dealers to create a strong customer experience and optimise the business opportunities for Hiab.

Preferable candidates who have a domicile in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany, the learning and taking over tasks can be done by drip feeding information and knowledge via frequent side-by-side working with the director (and present sales manager) based in the Netherlands. Citizenship of one of the NATO members.

  • Leadership of the sales team (presently two area sales managers)
  • Develop equipment sales budgets, KPI and plans
  • Development of key sales processes
  • Responsibility for the own sales region and the own key accounts
  • Manage and develop our pipeline of orders and implement efficient use of CRM tools to support the sales work
  • Negotiate sales with existing and new customers and OEMs who are of strategic importance to the organisation
  • Prepare and monitor sales forecast, revenues, prices, discounts, margins and costs against forecasts to identify problem areas and adapt
  • Manage a network of partners with a structured dealer management approach
  • Coordinate together with the Service department to create joint plans, activities and dealer management to create a strong customer experience
  • Develop a key understanding of competitor activities and formulate counter strategies
  • Take responsibility for further developing our offering together with our Divisions.

The company employs over 200 staff, with a primary focus on sales, engineering, service, and installation of new Hiab equipment on customers' trucks.

Dit breng je mee als senior sales manager
  • Bachelor or Master level in science (mechanical / electro engineering) or business administration
  • Fluent in English and German is a must
  • A solid track record of managing sales and driving sales growth
  • At least 10 years of relevant business/product experience (e.g truck industry or load handling equipment) related to sales
  • Experience in sales to truck manufacturers and/or defence customers is an advantage
  • Proven track record in B-to-B sales
  • Proven track record in complex long term business cycles
  • Ability to manage big and complex governmental tender projects
  • Willing and able to travel frequently
  • Team player with strong people skills, structure and passion for sales
  • Organised and ability to multitask

  • Awareness of specific Terms & Conditions in defence contracting
